LEAP Emerge

Classroom Edition

Formerly known as the CSULA Program, LEAP Emerge: Classroom Edition (AAAS 4970) is a semester-long, paid internship program/course in partnership with California State University, Los Angeles (Cal State LA) and CAUSE designed to develop emerging young leaders by providing working CSULA students with accessible leadership skills and the opportunity to work hands-on in the Asian and Pacific Islander community in Southern California.

• Practice leadership and workforce development skills such as communication, teamwork, public speaking, and giving/receiving feedback.

CAL State LA Students

Eligibility

Applicants must be enrolled students in California State University, Los Angeles (CSULA) and completed and be at at least Sophomore standing   with a 2.50 GPA upon applying.

Ideal Participants should have:

• A passion for learning and growing their leadership skills

• An interest in gaining work experience in an API-serving community-based nonprofit organization

• Experience working and collaborating with the Asian and Pacific Islander community (preferred but not necessary)
