Time, Talent & Treasure - Give to LEAP

Our innovative community programs such as the Executive Directors Leadership Program, Leadership In Action Summer Internship, the Emerging Leaders Program, the regional Community Leadership Conferences and scholarships for our community workshops are generously funded by corporate and foundation donors and more importantly, by individual donors and supporters such as yourself.

Donate to LEAP

A contribution to LEAP today can provide an emerging nonprofit leader with the opportunity to gain valuable leadership development, personal coaching and peer support. No matter the amount, you can help give an Asian or Pacific Islander college student a memorable and hands-on internship experience and leadership training that will lay the foundation for future success. Your donation will provide a chance and opportunity for any Asian or Pacific Islander to develop new skills, fine tune their strengths and solidify confidence in their abilities to be a leader in both the Asian and Pacific Islander communities as well in the broader society.

You can donate to LEAP by:

  1. Making a direct cash donation or pledge to LEAP – DONATE ONLINE NOW
  2. Provide a non-cash/in-kind contribution – See our Wish List of items and services that can be donated to LEAP
  3. Support LEAP by donating to the Asian Pacific Community Fund* through your company's Workplace Giving
  4. Designate LEAP to be a recipient through your company's United Way giving campaign

  If your company offers the option to give through an alternative giving fund, LEAP is a member of the Asian Pacific Community Fund. Established in 1990, the Asian Pacific Community Fund is a network of community organizations focused on enhancing the lives of Asian Pacific Islanders (APIs) throughout Los Angeles County. APCF's mission is to meet the diverse needs of APIs by building healthier communities, developing API leaders, creating a stronger API voice and providing the foundation for a brighter tomorrow. For more information on APCF and its Affiliate Agencies, please visit www.apcf.org.

Volunteer opportunities
Giving and philanthropy does not just have to be about money, although we would greatly appreciate any amount of financial contribution you can give to help support all of LEAP’s community programs and services. Giving and philanthropy can also be about supporting LEAP by volunteering your time and providing your talent to help further LEAP’s mission.

We are eternally grateful to all of our volunteers who have helped LEAP organize our programs and grow leaders. We are looking for individuals who are committed, enthusiastic, organized, self-motivated, willing to learn and passionate about growing leaders. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact:

Following are ways and the programs in which you can help LEAP.
* Student Internships
* LEAP’s 30th Anniversary Leadership Awards Gala
* Community Programs and Research
* LEAP Operations

Student Internships
Throughout the year, LEAP can offer interested high school and college students an opportunity to gain valuable work experience in areas such as marketing, training and development, special events, public relations, communications, program coordination, and research. Internships would be unpaid but there would be opportunities to meet and interact with prominent community, business and higher education leaders.

LEAP’s 30th Anniversary Leadership Awards Gala
LEAP holds an annual leadership awards dinner to recognize the leadership and accomplishments of individuals and organizations who exemplify LEAP’s mission to achieve full participation and equality for Asian and Pacific Islanders through leadership, empowerment, and policy. Proceeds from the event are used to develop LEAP’s innovative leadership programs, cutting-edge public policy research and nationwide community building.   This year, LEAP will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary at the Westin Bonaventure in Los Angeles, CA on July 26, 2012.

Volunteer opportunities range from serving on the Planning Committee or Silent Auction Committee to assisting LEAP staff with all aspects of event planning including gaining corporate sponsorships, program ads, in-kind donations, and silent auction items, helping with outreach/publicity, and volunteering on the day of the event.

Community Programs and Research
In order to Develop People, Inform Society, and Empower Communities, LEAP offers numerous community programs that include workshops, programs, events, and internships.  LEAP also publishes a series of research reports that evaluate the inclusion of Asian and Pacific Islanders at the highest leadership levels (Boards of Directors) in the private, foundation, and nonprofit sectors.  Each one takes a team of dedicated volunteers and staff.  Volunteer opportunities range from helping to promote and market the programs and research to administrative support.

LEAP Operations and General Office Help
