Civic Engagement Conferences (CEC's) are designed to bring together public and
private sector employees, community leaders, educators and students from
diverse ethnic communities to explore civic participation and public policy
issues concerning the Asian and Pacific Islander (API) communities in the
Central Valley and Northern California region. It provides the opportunity
for political networking and the skill sets and knowledge to become active
and effective advocates, leaders and elected officials.
Civic Engagement Conferences are designed for about 100 attendees, and tailored to address the needs of each region. With a morning panel of local community leaders and/or elected officials, the afternoon consists of break out sessions on different topics like 21st Century Leadership, or How to be on Boards & Commissions.
