Program Manager

The Program Manager for Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics, Inc., (LEAP) will be responsible for the efficient, cost-effective, and timely delivery and coordination of community and corporate leadership development programs, workshops and events. They will provide input in the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and monitoring of workshops and programs. In order to ensure the delivery of these programs and workshops, they will interface with community /corporate /political /higher education leaders, constituents and trainers across the country. They will report to the Senior Vice President of Administration and CFO and help to oversee the workflow of program coordinators and volunteers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the timely, efficient, and cost-effective coordination and delivery of community and corporate leadership programs and workshops.
  • Oversee the workflow of program coordinators relative to the coordination and delivery of programs and workshops.
  • Ensure timely and quality completion and production of program and workshop materials and related program delivery needs.
  • Assist Director of Training and Director of Development in the selection and scheduling of program and workshop venues.
  • Work with Director of Training and Director of Development in the planning and scheduling of community and corporate leadership programs and workshops.
  • Provide input to Sr. Vice President of Administration and CFO on budget items for programs and workshops.
  • Work with faculty, external trainers and consultants in the delivery of corporate and community leadership programs and workshops.
  • Work with Director of Training to conduct preliminary needs assessments in the community and corporate settings as needed.
  • Plan, organize and lead regular meetings with LEAP staff and external trainers.
  • Interface with corporate/community/political/educational leaders and their staff to plan and deliver programs, forums and workshops.
  • Assist Director of Development in marketing all workshops, programs and events as necessary.
  • Team with other staff as necessary and/or required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of and familiarity with the Asian and Pacific Islander community and its issues. Must be action-oriented, paying particular attention to details and processes. Must have excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Must be a self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team. Proven experience in program /project management, coordination and workflow processes. Ability to work under pressure while managing multiple projects/tasks and deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be Mac literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Filemaker Pro and internet communications. Familiarity with design (Photoshop and InDesign) and video editing (Final Cut) programs a plus.

Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends. Valid California Driver's license, auto insurance and access to a car a must.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree. Advanced degree a plus.

Experience:

Three or more years experience in program/project management, workflow processes and coordination in a team environment. Knowledge of and experience in the Asian and Pacific Islander community; experience working with the corporate sector preferred. Training design and development and delivery desirable.

Travel:

Travel is required nationally and possibly internationally.
